The Year in Review The year in review. In June. Seriously?
Well, while I really didn’t get much of a chance to mark the occasion at the time, the passage of last month makes it officially one year since I packed my bags, left the comfy woods of “upstate” New York, and threw in my lot with Gotham.
And what a year it’s been. The work at BusinessWeek has been humming full-tilt since the moment I stepped through the the door. Highlights include a crash test dummy, a new Flash-based (and OOP-style) slideshow format (more on that in a future post), and a widget shout-out from Steve Jobs himself. And there’s plenty more on tap.
The biggest news though has to be my recent change of role at the organization. Last month I was given the nod to become the Deputy Creative Director for BusinessWeek Online. While I’ve been filling the role for some time, marshaling projects, sketching and coding away furiously on all fronts, I wanted to wait until all the paperwork had run its course before making it totally official.
With that it’s time to pause, sit back for a brief moment or two, and reflect on just what I can do with Year Two.
